CES2-6358FAA Remote Drone Pilot: Grades 9-12

Course Description

Have you ever wondered what the view is like from the eye of a soaring eagle? Discover for yourself with an eagle-eye view flying commercial small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) otherwise known as "drones." Learn about aerodynamics, FAA regulations, national airspace, weather, aircraft performance, and operational safety. Camp includes practice flying Schoolcraft College's quadcopters indoors. Fly a drone safely and have fun while exploring future career opportunities! Camp will prepare you to take the FAA Unmanned Aircraft General (UAG) written exam. Must be 14 years old to take the UAG exam. Test takes place at FAA testing center (not included in camp). The FAA Remote Pilot Certificate will be issued with a passing UAG test score as soon as you turn 16 years of age. Bring a bag lunch to camp each day.
