The History of the Orphan Trains

Course Description

In the mid-1850s, more than 30,000 children-some as young as four-were living on the streets of New York City, struggling to survive. From 1854 to 1929, the Orphan Trains relocated over 250,000 children from New York and Boston to new homes across the country. Join historian and multi-award-winning author Sherry A. Burton for a compelling presentation on the History of the Orphan Trains. Doors open at 11:15am. Full, buffet lunch served including vegetarian and gluten free options. All proceeds support student scholarships.
