Course Description
Discover the inspiring story of Wayne State University Coach Holmes who, during the 1920-1950s, trained Olympians and world-record holders, despite obstacles. From coaching athletes to run sprints on the tile hallways in absence of track facilities, to mentoring thousands of diverse athletes during an era rife with racism, Holmes had a knack for nurturing talent. Explore his legacy with author and grandson of Coach Holmes, Keith Wunderlich. This talk is certain to leave you inspired. Doors open at 11:15am. Full, buffet lunch served including vegetarian and gluten free options. All proceeds support student scholarships.
