Course Description

Explore untold stories of Black resilience and achievement with author and historian, Anthony Brogdon. From the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in 1619 to the rise of Motown Records, Brogdon will share stories of Black-owned businesses, the history of Black business districts, and will discuss how freed slaves built their enterprises. Learn about the challenges they faced and how their triumphs shaped America. Doors open at 11:15am. Full, buffet lunch served including vegetarian and gluten free options. All proceeds support student scholarships.
