Course Description

Learn fundamental care principles and practices to assist those living with dementia. This money-saving series consists of the five required classes to earn a Dementia Care Certificate. Certificate includes Fundamentals of Dementia Care CES 4379, Making Meaningful Connections CES 4304, Combating Caregiver Stress CES 4321, Making the Most of Mealtime CES 4306 and Care at the end of Life CES 4311. Note: to complete the Certificate two elective classes need to be taken in addition to this series' classes. This educational activity is provided by Schoolcraft College, an approved continuing education provider under the Michigan Board of Nursing Administrative Rule R338.10602(g) and is approved for 15 continuing education contact hours for nurses. It is approved for 15 continuing education contact hours for social workers by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative and 1.5 CEUs for all others. Daytime class has a half-hour break not included in CEU total.
