Course Description

Wandering is one of the greatest challenges faced by those who work with persons living with dementia. Discover important information regarding what role wandering plays in dementia care. Learn strategies to promote safe wandering and how to respond to wandering incidents using the REACT method. Recommendation: take CES 4303 Fundamentals of Dementia Care first. This class is an elective to complete the certificate. This educational activity is provided by Schoolcraft College, an approved continuing education provider under the Michigan Board of Nursing Administrative Rule R338.10602(g) and is approved for 2 continuing education contact hours for nurses. It is approved for 2 continuing education contact hours for social workers by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative and 0.2 CEUs for all others.
