Birding 102: Beyond the Basics

Course Description

Build upon the skills you learned in Birdwatching 101 by gaining a deeper understanding of avian identification, ecology, and ethical observation practices. Through interactive lectures, guided fieldwork, and hands-on journaling, refine your ability to recognize bird species by sight and sound, understand more about avian behavior and habitats, and practice responsible birding techniques. Complete the course with a field trip to a local birding hotspot. Prerequisite: Birdwatching 101: Introduction to Birds & Birding or equivalent experience. Requirement: students will need a pair of binoculars.
